WATERVILLE — Amanda Gifford’s RBI triple in the 10th inning lifted Husson University of Bangor to a 2-1 victory over Colby College as the Eagles earned a split of Tuesday’s softball doubleheader.
Colby won the first game 2-1.
In the first game, Barbara Santos hit an RBI single and Brianne Wheeler drove home Santos with a double in the fourth inning for Colby.
Lona Sargent singled home Gifford in the fourth for Husson.
In the second game, Rebecca McCarty pitched seven shutout innings for the Eagles.
Colby’s Lauren Becker had a no-hitter through seven innings and totaled four hits in 10 innings. She struck out eight.

Plymouth State sweeps USM
At Plymouth, N.H., Amber White earned a pair of wins in the circle to lead Plymouth State University to a sweep of the University of Southern Maine.
PSU won the first game 9-6 and the second game 4-1.
In the first game, Heather Blase hit a home run, a double and a single with three RBIs to lead the Panthers.
Erin Swarbrick led Southern Maine with a home run, a single and three RBIs. Anna Mitchell chipped in with a double, a single and three RBIs.
In the second game, White allowed just one run on seven hits to earn the victory for Plymouth.
Swarbrick singled twice for the Huskies while Samantha Morse hit an RBI single.

Thomas sweeps UMF
At Waterville, Cassie Manning tripled to drive in Lauren Hachey in the bottom of the seventh inning, breaking 5-5 tie and leading Thomas College past the University of Maine-Farmington in the first game.
Thomas also won the second game 5-0.
In the first game, Manning also singled and totaled three RBIs for the Terriers. Samantha Moore hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Hachey also doubled.
Kaitlyn Bartlett had two singles, an RBI and a run for UM-Farmington.
In the second game, Jordan Kennedy pitched seven shutout innings for Thomas, yielding five hits and no walks while striking out five. Hachey doubled with two RBIs and Kristen Loubier doubled and singled with an RBI.
Amy Jones, McKell Barnes, Bridget Flaherty, Shannon Mitchell and Bartlett singled for the Beavers.

At Gorham, Ryan Walsh hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning as the University of Massachusetts Boston rallied from a two-run deficit to defeat the University of Southern Maine.
Forrest Chadwick led the Huskies with two doubles, a triple and three runs scored. David Ricker posted two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Josh Mackey collected three singles while Mike Eaton hit a two-run home run.

At Castine, John Jennings scored four goals while James Wyse (three assists) and Greg McKillop tallied three each to power the Mules past the Mariners.
Philip Champoux scored two goals for 6-6 Colby of Waterville, while nine players notched one goal apiece to back Patrick Gilligan and Tyler Cash, who combined to make four saves.
Brian Corain tallied two goals for Maine Maritime Academy. Andrew DiSalvo and Wade Mondoux added one each. Erik Milles made 17 saves.
