Burrill’s run lifts MDI over Bucksport

BUCKSPORT — Tyler Burrill scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning as Bucksport topped Mount Desert Island 4-3 in a high school baseball game Tuesday.

Evan Eldridge earned the win for the Golden Bucks, giving up three runs on one hit. Tyler McAllian hit two singles and knocked in two runs.

Ben Walls hit an infield single and drove in a run for the Trojans while Nick Shaw scored twice.

At East Sullivan, Nick Kane posted two singles, a double and four RBIs to spark George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill by Sumner.

Josh Gale doubled and singled with two RBIs for the Eagles. Schuyler Van der Eb and Finn McMahan-Allwine each added a double, a single and an RBI.

Brandon Tenney and Dylan Harmon each hit an RBI double for the Tigers.

At Bangor, Jake Jones pitched a three-hit shutout to power Penobscot Valley of Howland by Bangor Christian.

Eddy Cobb led the Howlers with a double, a single and an RBI. Ryan Scopino and Griffin Libby each had two singles and an RBI. Logan Jipson and Brody Libby each added a two-run single.

Brad Wilcox, Tyler Alexander and Dave Peters each hit a single for the Patriots.

At Orono, Michaela Hussey hit three singles and drove in three runs as the Coyotes cruised past Orono.

McKayla Gastia picked up the win for Old Town, giving up two runs on two hits.

Caleigh Paul hit a two-run double to lead the Red Riots.

At Bangor, Kayla Dube pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on one hit with eight strikeouts to lead Penobscot Valley of Howland by Bangor Christian.

Alissa Whitten hit an RBI single for the Howlers. Bethany Heald and Erica Worthing each singled and scored.

Gabby Melcher hit an RBI single for the Patriots while Ashley Levasseur scored a run.

At East Sullivan, Hunter Rivers hit a two-run single to highlight a four-run sixth inning as Sumner rallied past George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Katelyn Hodgkins hit a solo home run and a single with two RBIs for the Tigers. Kiera Eschete posted a double, a single and an RBI while Maria Lockhart and Sarah Leighton each singled twice.

Richelle Kane led the Eagles with a triple, a single and an RBI. Sabrina Vivian had two singles and an RBI while Shelbi Candage added two singles.
