Down East Business Alliance lists QuickBooks classes

MACHIAS, Maine — The Down East Business Alliance will offer a QuickBooks Training Series, Introduction to QuickBooks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 23; Intermediate QuickBooks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 6;  Advanced QuickBooks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 13 , at the University of Maine Machias computer lab in campus in Machias. Fees are $40 and $50 .

Introduction to Bookkeeping is a prerequisite for taking the QuickBooks classes. This requirement may be waived if the participant is already fluent in those processes and procedures. Introduction to Bookkeeping will be offered from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, May 16, at a cost of $25.

2 nursing scholarships available through women’s health library

MILBRIDGE, Maine — The Women’s Health Resource Library will offer two $2,500 Elaine Hill nursing scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year. The first award will go to a student attending Narraguagus High School and the second to nontraditional students enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
