BANGOR, Maine — Two brothers from Corinth reported their canoe stolen Saturday after they finished the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

“When they finished the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race, they tied their canoe to a branch on the bank of the river and went home to change into dry clothes,” Edwards said. “When they returned, the canoe was missing.”

The men reported the canoe, as well as two green Cabela’s brand life jackets and two wooden paddles, missing at 6:30 p.m.

The canoe is a green Discovery, with part of the word Discovery rubbed out so that it reads “Disco.” The canoe and the gear are valued at $915.

Those with information about the whereabouts of the canoe or property may call Bangor police Officer Tim Shaw at 947-7382, ext. 95766. The department’s anonymous tip line can be accessed by pressing 6.
