Tanglewood prepares to welcome thousands of area children

By Ardeana Hamlin, BDN Staff

On April 30, Tanglewood will prepare its facilities to welcome thousands of Maine youth for spring school programs and summer camp programs at Tanglewood 4-H Camp in Lincolnville and Blueberry Cove Camp in Tenants Harbor.

The annual volunteer work day will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at both camps. Volunteers are needed to help with garden preparation, general facility cleaning, raking and cleanup around cabins, simple carpentry projects, painting and trail maintenance work.

The annual open house will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 30, offering tours of the camp’s grounds and buildings. Families will be guided through the summer programs that will be offered at both locations and give children opportunities to explore the camp facilities and meet camp staff.

Bring your family, friends, your favorite tools, gloves and a picnic lunch, and be prepared to have fun while helping out. The camp will provide snacks and beverage. Stay for part of the day or all day.

For more information, call Sharon Gilbert at the Tanglewood office at 789-5868.
