WASHINGTON — The U.S. Navy has committed to sending one of its ships to pay a port visit to Rockland, Maine, during the 47th annual Maine Lobster Festival, to be held in August, according to a press release from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins.

Collins says she wrote to the Navy requesting the visit.

“I am pleased that the Navy has agreed to honor our state with this port visit during the popular Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland,” Collins said in the release. “This visit will be a wonderful opportunity for us all to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Navy and welcome them to Maine.”
