DOT to hold hearings on public transportation in Washington and Hancock counties

MACHIAS, Maine — The Maine Department of Transportation, in partnership with Washington and Hancock county transportation providers, is inviting the public to participate in a discussion regarding public transit services in the two counties.

The RPAC meetings will be held in Hancock County from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Ellsworth City Hall, and in Washington County from 1 to 4 p.m. at the  Washington County Building, Commissioners Conference Room, 85 Court St.

Contact Washington Hancock Community Agency at 664-2424 if you need transportation to the meetings or need special accommodations.

The discussion group, also referred to as Regional Plan Advisory Committee, is part of the public participation process established by the DOT in its efforts to meet both state and federal transportation planning and funding requirements.
