Tanglewood 4-H offers tours, information on summer camp

LINCOLNVILLE, Maine — Tanglewood 4-H Camp will hold an open house 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at One Tangle Road in Lincolnville. Tours of the camp’s grounds and buildings  and information for the summer camp programs will be available.

The annual Volunteer Work Day will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Saturday, April 30, at Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center in Lincolnville and Blueberry Cove Camp in Tenants Harbor. For information, call Sharon Gilbert at 789-5868.

BRI wildlife biologist to present program on mercury in bats

WINTER HARBOR, Maine — Tim Divoll, associate wildlife biologist with the BioDiversity Research Institute, will present an illustrated program about the problems caused by mercury in bat populations at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Moore Auditorium on the campus of the Schoodic Education and Research Center, Acadia National Park, in Winter Harbor.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door. For information, call 288-1360.

Rockport Boat Club sailing program open to 10 youths

ROCKPORT, Maine — The  Rockport Boat Club Summer Sailing Program will offer 10 youth sailing opportunities for ages 6 to 17, in addition to private lessons for all ages and abilities at the individual or group level.

The competitive sailing program is in its second year. Students will learn the basics of racing and participate in several regattas throughout the summer. Applications are now being accepted. Michaud staff member in Winterport on April 20

WINTERPORT, Maine — U.S. Rep.  Mike Michaud’s staff will be available to meet constituents in Winterport from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 20, at the Winterport town office, 20 School St. in Winterport.

Bangor Hydro to interrupt service in Gouldsboro area

GOULDSBORO, Maine — Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. has announced a planned interruption in electrical services for customers in the Gouldsboro area from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. Customers in this area should plan accordingly.
