Nick Carparelli of Dedham lines up his putt on the second hole during the Bangor Golf Classic at Bangor Municipal Golf Course last season. Bangor Muni opens for the season Friday along with Kebo Valley in Bar Harbor, J.W. Parks in Pittsfield and Country View in Brooks. Northport Golf Club opens Saturday.

Bangor Municipal Golf Course, Kebo Valley in Bar Harbor, J.W. Parks in Pittsfield and Country View in Brooks are open for the season, and Northport Golf Club will open Saturday.

They join Rockland Golf Club, which had already announced its Friday opening.

Due to wet conditions, all of the courses are allowing walkers only, with one exception.

Country View opens Friday morning to walkers only, but the club expects to allow riding carts Saturday. All tees and greens are in play.

Kebo has already started play, with all 18 holes open and spring rates in effect. Call 288-3000, ext. 1, for tee times. The public is welcome.

Bangor Muni is opening all 27 holes at 7 a.m. Friday. For more information, call the clubhouse at 941-0232 or go to the club website, www.bangorgc.com, or to www.bangorparksandrec.com.

J.W. Parks also opens Friday morning. Owner Mike Dugas is hoping carts will be able to get out by April 22. Players should also note that the golf shop has moved into the clubhouse, sharing space with the restaurant.

Northport will open at 8 a.m. Saturday with all greens and tees in play.
