PORTLAND, Maine — The family of a Maine woman shot and killed by a police officer has hired an attorney to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
Scarborough lawyer Daniel Warren says he has been asked to investigate the “facts and factors” surrounding the shooting death of 39-year-old Katherine Paulson.
Paulson was killed in her Kennebunk home on March 27 by Kennebunk Officer Joshua Morneau. Police say Morneau was responding to a domestic disturbance when he was confronted “with deadly force.” Police have not said publicly what that force was.
The Portland Press Herald says Morneau and an officer he was with at the time of the shooting have returned to work.
