Car crashes into empty day care building in Standish

The Associated Press

STANDISH, Maine — Maine police are investigating the crash of a car into a Standish day care center.

A motorist was injured when his car crashed into the Little Tykes Day Care just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The day care was empty at the time, but the building had extensive damage.

The driver was taken away by ambulance. His condition was unknown.

Crystal Frost, the day care center’s owner, says the center will be closed Thursday and Friday for repairs. She told WGME-TV that she’s looking to install a fence or guardrail to prevent future crashes.
