Should Maine allow Sunday hunting?

Every few years, proposals come before the Legislature to allow hunting on Sundays. One of the arguments for changing the law is Maine loses out on out-of-state hunters coming here for a weekend of hunting. Few are likely to do so, because they would get just one day of hunting. Another argument is that it seems only fair to allow a private landowner who wishes to hunt on his own property to be able to do on Sundays. Arguments against the change come from those who feel unsafe in the woods during hunting season; one day a week they should feel safe hiking, they say. Is it time to change this law? Or does it work as is?
