An Orono man was summoned Friday afternoon after a police officer saw a strange-looking inspection sticker on the windshield of the vehicle he was driving, Old Town police Sgt. Scott Casey said.

Michael Zallen, 38, was charged with displaying a fictitious inspection sticker after Officer Lee Miller determined through a vehicle identification number check that the sticker on his windshield, while authentic, actually had been scraped off another vehicle.

Casey said the incident occurred about 3 p.m. on Brunswick Street. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
