Old Town police were asked to keep the peace while a resident moved out of his Caron Circle residence Sunday morning and while doing so discovered marijuana growing in a closet, Sgt. Michael Hashey said on Tuesday.

Officer Josh Loring saw light coming from inside a closet at around 10:20 a.m. and when he asked to look inside, he received permission, he said.

Richard Sullivan, 41, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana cultivation but was not arrested, Hashey said.

“It was under five plants,” the sergeant said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

A Belfast woman whom Bangor police Officer Steve Jordan saw pass a stopped school bus on Stillwater Avenue on Monday afternoon was charged for doing so, Sgt. Paul Edwards said on Tuesday.

Jordan saw a silver SUV and a blue car pass the bus, which was stopped at the junction of Gilman Road with its lights flashing, at around 2:25 p.m. While the students who got off the bus crossed the street, he asked another officer to stop the SUV and he decided to pursue the blue car, the sergeant said.

Ruth MacGregor, 54, was stopped by Jordan and was charged with passing a stopped school bus. She was not arrested and there is no report about the driver of the silver SUV being stopped, Edwards said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
