Outlook: The Black Bears, perhaps still sore from Saturday’s shoveling effort, need this game to get back into the swing of things. After being snowed out of its weekend series, UMaine is preparing for its opening America East series next weekend at Stony Brook. However, rain forecast for Tuesday could push the contest to Wednesday. The Mules were able to play over the weekend, but dropped three games against NESCAC rival Trinity. Colby, coached by former UMaine pitcher Dale Plummer, is batting at a .298 clip, but has allowed almost nine runs per game. The Bears will utilize several pitchers, all of whom need work. UMaine has been idle for eight days.
