Should Cindy Blodgett have been fired?

After being fired as head coach of the women’s basketball team by University of Maine Athletic Director Steve Abbott, Cindy Blodgett held a press conference in which she suggested the team was about to turn the corner toward success. Was she cut off too soon? Should Mr. Abbott have given her one more year (the last year on her contract)? Or was the team’s record too poor to risk wasting another year on an approach that wasn’t working?
