LEWISTON, Maine — A turnout of up to 1,000 people at the Lewiston-Auburn Film Festival surpassed organizers’ expectations and is encouraging the idea of having similar events in the future.
The Sun Journal of Lewiston says purchases of bracelets allowing admission showed high interest in Saturday’s event.
The festival featured more than 100 films from local, American and international filmmakers. The short, feature, documentary and experimental films were showcased in several locations in Lewiston and Auburn.
Festival board member Joshua Shea says he did not imagine the event would draw crowds like those that packed venues on Saturday.
