DEXTER – Chester R. Brozyna, 75, formerly of Derry, N.H., died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Dexter Healthcare Center, Dexter, after a period of declining health. Mr. Brozyna was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Webster, Mass., and was a son of the late Joseph and Susan Brozyna.
He was raised and educated in Webster, Mass., and was a graduate of NH College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957, during the Korean War, and retired from Delta Airlines after a long and rewarding career as a customer service representative. Mr. Brozyna was a longtime member of American Legion Lester Chase Post No. 9, Derry, N.H., and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1617, Derry, N.H.
Surviving members of the family include a son and his wife, Kerry and Bridget Brozyna; a daughter, Kelly Manning; five grandchildren, Lyndsey, Katherine, Shannon, Christopher and Joey; three brothers, Frank, Louis and Paul Brozyna; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Joann M. (Kelley) Brozyna, in 1997.
Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 27 Crystal Ave., Derry, N.H.
