ORRINGTON, Maine — Those interested in running for selectman or to sit on the school board have until May 2 to file nomination forms with the town clerk in order to get on the local ballot.

There are two selectmen seats, now held by Patricia Gott and Howard Grover, and two school board spots, now held by Kathy Lawrence and Glendon Rand II, that are up for grabs during June 6 local elections.

Nomination forms are available at the town office. Call 825-3340 for more information.

Orrington drama club to perform

ORRINGTON, Maine — The middle school drama club at Center Drive School will perform “The Creepy Creeps of Pilgrim Road” this Friday and Saturday at the school.

More than 70 students, 37 in the cast and 25 crew members, are participating in the production, which opens at 6:30 p.m. both days.

“Even though the title sounds ‘creepy,’ it is really a musical comedy with many talented performers,” music teacher Pauline Dickey said on the school’s website.

During intermission, concession stands will open to raise funds for the self-supporting drama program, she said.

After the show, donated pies made by parents of the drama students will be auctioned off,  said Rhonda Miller, who is a parent volunteer.

“All of the money goes back into drama,” she said.

Tickets for the show are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
