Bangor police charged a local woman with theft Sunday after she reportedly concealed two bottles of coffee-flavored liqueur in her jacket and tried to leave a Bangor supermarket without paying for them.

The incident that led to the theft charge occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday at Shaw’s on Main Street, Bangor police Lt. Jeff Millard said Monday, citing a police report.

Lynn Shea, 54, of Bangor allegedly had tucked away a bottle of Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy and a bottle of Kapali Coffee Liqueur, worth a total of about $30, Millard said.

Shea, who was not arrested, was stopped before leaving the store and was cooperative when asked to remain until city police arrived, Millard said. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
