ROCKPORT — The Penobscot Bay YMCA will offer a Learn to Swim Program sponsored by Nautica. The program is free and available to youth in kindergarten though fifth grade with limited swimming ability in Knox County.

The program will be offered April 18-22 during school vacation. Lessons will provide swim assessment, water safety and basic swimming skill instruction — all free of charge. The four-day, 45-minute class will run at 9 a.m. or 3 p.m. Classes are for beginner swimmers.

Swimmers must bring a bathing suit and towel. Participants in the Learn to Swim Program will receive a $10 swim lesson coupon good toward the spring session, which runs April 25-June 12.

To register for Learn to Swim, call 236-3375 or stop by the Y. For more information, contact Mike Fournier, YMCA aquatics director, at 236-3375 or mfournier@penbayymca.org or visit www.penobscotbayymca.org/.
