Caregiver support group to meet in Belfast

WALDO, Maine — The Waldo County Family Caregiver Support Group meets from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the conference room of Waldo County Home Health and Hospice, located in the professional building across the street from Waldo County General Hospital at 119 Northport Avenue in Belfast.

You are welcome to bring your lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Children’s nutrition workshops slated in Pembroke, Jonesport

MACHIAS, Maine — Washington County: One Community and the University of Maine at Machias are holding two free workshops on children’s nutrition as part of the We Can! program.

Parents and children ages 8-13 can join nutrition associate Nancy LeClair and registered dietitian Mona Van Wart from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 5, 7, 12 and 14 at Pembroke Elementary. Registration for this workshop is required. Call Pembroke Elementary at 726-5564.

Robbinston students to hold public supper

ROBBINSTON, Maine — As part of the town of Robbinston’s 200th birthday celebration, the Robbinston Historical Society is hosting a series of celebratory events now through September.  The Robbinston Elementary School eighth-graders will host a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the school. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and $12 for families. The annual town meeting follows the supper at the school.

Belfast Garden Club plans annual plant sale

BELFAST, Maine — The Belfast Garden Club’s annual Green Thumb Plant Sale will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at The Belfast Boathouse, 34 Commercial Street in Belfast. A wide array of annuals and perennials, gardening supplies and more will be available for your spring gardening needs. The annual plant sale is a benefit for Belfast Garden Club activities in the community and a scholarship fund for higher education.
