FRANKFORT, Maine — The election of town officers will begin at 9 a.m. March 24 at Frankfort Elementary School. There are no contested seats but selectman, assessor and overseer of the poor Allan Gordon Jr. is running for re-election.

The annual town meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, March 25, also at the elementary school.

In addition to voting on the municipal budget, residents will be asked whether they are in favor of a resolution supporting the 10 megawatt Eolian Renewable Energy wind power project to qualify for the Maine Community Based Renewable Energy Program.

Amy Stone of the Frankfort town office said that she wasn’t sure if the turnout for the town meeting will be large or not, adding that most of the warrant articles are business as usual.

“We always hope a lot of people will show up, but it’s hard to judge,” she said.
