BROWNVILLE, Maine — Residents passed over a proposed ordinance at the annual town meeting Monday that would have covered the administrative process dealing with solid waste.

Officials had proposed the ordinance because of some problems with people not wanting to follow the town’s procedures. The ordinance would have given the town enforcement authority.

About 70 people attended the meeting, during which Linda Coburn and Mark Tanguay were elected selectmen and Leon Farrar Jr. was elected to the SAD 41 board.
