STONINGTON — “Dear Fish,” an original performance created from student-generated text and artwork, will be performed by students in grades three through 12 at 7 p.m April 1 and 2 p.m. April 2, at Reach Performing Arts Center. Admission is $5. Tickets are available through Stonington Opera House arts website www.operahousearts.org, by calling the box office at 367-2788, or at the door a half-hour before time of show; students get in for free. The show is the result of students swapping fish tales between Deer Isle-Stonington and Juneau, Alaska.

SEARSPORT — Becca’s Closet, a nonprofit organization run by high school girls, provides free prom dresses across the country in memory of Rebecca Kirtman who died in an automobile accident in 2003. The Searsport chapter of the Becca’s Closet event will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in the vestry of the First Congregational Church of Searsport. ROCKLAND —The March for Babies walk will be held at 9 a.m. (registration at 8 a.m.) Sunday, May 1, at the Rockland Elks Lodge, 210 Rankin St. The family-friendly event raises money to support research, services, education and advocacy in the fight against prematurity, birth defects and infant mortality. BREWER — Community of Christ Church is collecting dresses 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and 1-3 p.m Saturdays through March 29 for the donatemydress.org branch “Giggey Girl Gowns” for girls who can’t afford prom dresses. The church is located at 128 Pierce Road in Brewer. Giggey Girl Gowns will be open for business 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 2. For more information, call 902 2421.
