Is restoring Maine’s deer herd an effort worth making?

Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Chandler Woodcock unveiled his plan to rebuild deer populations in western, northern and eastern Maine. The plan focuses on restoring winter cover for the animals and reducing the population of predators like coyotes. Is this an investment worth making? Will it work? Are there other, less costly measures to take, such as eliminating any-deer permits that result in breeding females being killed?

Should all bond funding go to voters?
