Restroom peeper violates sex offender registry law

By Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN Staff

A registered sex offender in Bangor who was sentenced last fall to jail for trying to peek under restroom stall doors and for masturbating in public during last year’s Fourth of July parade was charged again on Monday, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

William Gordius, 54, of Bangor is required by the state’s sex offender law to inform police whenever he moves and he failed to do so, the sergeant said.

Detective Erik Tall charged Gordius on Monday morning with failing to comply with the Sex Offender Registry Act.

Gordius was sentenced in September at the Penobscot Judicial Center to 30 days in jail for violation of privacy for the June 15 incident in the women’s restroom at the Pickering Square parking garage and for disorderly conduct charge related to the incident at the parade downtown.
