Bethel shuts out Southern Maine softball

CLERMONT, FLa. — Gena Bock pitched a five-hit shutout, striking out five without issuing a walk, to lead Bethel College to an 8-0 softball victory over the University of Southern Maine of Gorham on Friday.

Rachel Gilbert homered and Stephanie Vosberg doubled, each with two RBIs, for the winners. Katie Davis paced the Huskies with two singles behind losing pitcher Sarah Deroche, who was victimized by six errors.
