Register for Brewer ‘Kids in Action’ preschool fun, fitness program


BREWER, Maine — The Brewer Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the new preschool fun and fitness program, “Kids in Action” 10-11 a.m. Monday, March 28, at Brewer Auditorium. Children  ages 4-5 may join this three-week program. The fee is $15 for Brewer residents, $20 for nonresidents. For more information, call 989-5199.

Orono Land Trust to present bird bander on March 25

ORONO, Maine — The Orono Land Trust’s annual meeting will feature G. Rad Mayfield III, master bird bander and educator, speaking at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Keith Anderson Community Center, 19 Bennoch Road in Orono. AAUW book sale at church in Orono

ORONO, Maine — Penobscot Valley AAUW will hold its annual book sale 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Church of Universal Fellowship, 82 Main St., Orono.  Light lunch and snacks also may be purchased. Books may be dropped off during the week before the sale at the Orono Public Library, Pine Street, or at the Women’s Resource Center, Fernald Hall, University of Maine Campus.Admission is $10, and early birds can arrive between 8 and 9 a.m.

Bangor’s Hilltop School expands nature-based summer camp for K-2

BANGOR, Maine — The Hilltop School in Bangor begins a new expanded summer camp program for children in kindergarten-grade two.
