Fire crews battling blazes in Dexter, Corinna

CORINNA, Maine — Firefighters from several communities along the border of Penobscot and Piscataquis counties were on the scene of separate fires in Dexter and Corinna on Friday night, both of which were under control as of 9:30 p.m.

The first of the two fires was reported shortly after 9 p.m. at the Dragon’s Den, a business that sells costumes, decorations, accessories and other products, located at 12 Robichaud Road, a Penobscot Regional Communications Center dispatcher confirmed Friday night.

Crews from Corinna, Newport and Dexter were still at the fire scene as of 10 p.m.

The second fire was reported at 9:33 p.m. at 295 Dover Road in Dexter, the dispatcher said.

Crews from Dexter, Corinna, Newport, Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft were called to extinguish that fire. They also were still at the fire scene as of 10 p.m.

Details remained sketchy late Friday. Information about any injuries was not immediately available.
