ACAP recruiting children for Head Start program

HOULTON, Maine — Aroostook County Action Program is currently recruiting children for the 2011-2012 Head Start program year.

ACAP Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood education program that promotes child health, parent education and involvement and nutritious hot meals. Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Oct. 15, 2011, for the Head Start program. Proof of income is required.

Early Head Start accepts applications for pregnant women and children up to age 3. Home based services are available through ACAP’s partnership with Healthy Families Aroostook.

ACAP centers in Presque Isle, Fort Kent, Madawaska and Houlton are open 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call Kim Larkins at 768-3045 or 1-800-432-7881.
