Police searching Lewiston apartment for meth lab

LEWISTON, Maine — Police are search a Lewiston apartment in search of evidence of a methamphetamine lab, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The Lewiston Police Department secured the apartment at 41 River St. on Monday night and the MDEA started to search the apartment Tuesday morning, according to the release. Police believe the drug has been cooked in the apartment recently, and will wear protective suits and breathing masks while they search the apartment.
