Hundreds without power in northern Penobscot County

Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. said 824 customers in northern Penobscot County and two in Hancock County were without power Friday morning.

Crews continued their efforts to restore power after scattered outages were reported in Lincoln, LaGrange, Medway and Woodville, the company said.

Bangor Hydro cautioned customers not to try to cut ice-covered tree limbs on their own because it is dangerous and could result in serious injury or worse. It also noted that people should never touch a downed power line or a tree in contact with one.
