BANGOR, Maine — The Kenduskeag Plaza will be closed as of 11 p.m. Thursday and will stay closed all day Friday because of concerns over possible flooding, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday afternoon in a news release.

Flashing message boards will be posted in the area of the plaza warning motorists to avoid parking there.  Public works employees will place barricades at all entrances Thursday evening, Edwards said.

He said the fire chief and the city engineer will evaluate the situation during the day Friday to determine when the plaza can reopen.
