End of Winter Gathering planned in Newport


NEWPORT, Maine — The North Country Inter Tribal Pow-Wow will hosts the End of Winter Gathering at 10 a.m. March 19, at Nokomis High School. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted at the door and will be presented to the Newport Public Library.

Nonperishable food items will be accepted for the Newport Food Pantry. All ages are welcome. For more information, call Ellie Luce at 368 4959.

BANGOR — Dr. Allen S. “Chip” Teel will discuss his book “Alone and Invisible: Averting Disaster in Aging America” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the Bangor Public Library.

Teel will explore how the U.S. arrived at its current crisis in elder care.
