Bangor police were called to an apartment on Moosehead Boulevard in Capehart after an argument at a residence there boiled over and led to three separate charges against a Bangor man on Tuesday.

After arriving at the scene around 5 p.m., Officer Christopher Blanchard learned that an argument between a woman and her live-in boyfriend, Joshua McGilvray, 25, reportedly resulted in an assault on the woman.

According to Sgt. Paul Edwards, McGilvray grabbed a mirror off the wall and shattered it on the floor of the apartment after a dispute with his girlfriend. Edwards was not sure what the couple was fighting about but he said McGilvray then proceeded to take hold of the woman with his hands and shake her.

The woman was unable to leave the residence because McGilvray was blocking her exit at both doorways, Edwards said.

Blanchard arrested McGilvray and charged him with domestic assault, criminal mischief and obstructing the report of a crime. He was transported to Penobscot County Jail.
