ROCKLAND, Maine — A pharmacy technician stole $140,000 of Tussionex, an opiate-based pain killer that contains hydrocodone, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Doris Bourque, 59, of Topsham was summoned Thursday for stealing drugs. The charges came after an investigation by the MDEA, Brunswick police and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, which found that Bourque stole medication from the pharmacy at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick where she worked.

“The investigation revealed that a bottle of the prescription drug was missing each week,” stated the MDEA press release issued Friday afternoon.

Bourque has an April 28 court appearance scheduled in Cumberland County, and police said more charges are pending.

Several others from the midcoast area were arrested this week on drug charges, according to police.

Tracey Able, 36, of Rockland was charged Wednesday, March 2, for possession of oxycodone and violating his probation. Agents seized 12 oxycodone pills from two different residences in Rockland.

The MDEA, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police worked to arrest Henry Dudley, 29, of Cushing and Robert Demmons, 53, of Cushing for trafficking hydrocodone. Police said in the release that the two men lived together and were selling the drug from their home.

While Jennica Benner, 24, of Thomaston, was sitting in Knox County Jail on Thursday for unrelated charges, MDEA agents searched her apartment and found two bags of heroin, police said. She was then charged for possession of heroin.

On Thursday police arrested Nichole Stone, 37, of Thomaston after finding her in possession of two types of Xanax and Ritalin, according to the press release. In addition to the drug possession charges, police also charged her with violating conditions of bail.
