GUILFORD, Maine — Piscataquis Community Middle School students are working to raise funds for a trip to Boston, where they want to walk the Freedom Trail and visit Salem, the home of the infamous witch trials.
To help offset the $400 cost per student, several fundraising events are planned. The students will sponsor a spaghetti supper and silent auction from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Guilford Masonic Hall. The auction will close at 6:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.
In addition to the supper, the students and their parents will canvass the SAD 4 region collecting bottles and cans on Saturday, March 12. The Davis/Northup garage in Parkman will serve as the counting and collection site. Returnables also can be taken to Route 23 Redemption in Sangerville, but residents should specify the funds are for the PCMS Travelers. Arrangements also can be made by contacting Rex Webb at 876-4625, ext. 43, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A student dance will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the school.
Sponsorships for the trip also will be accepted.
