US Navy Band to perform in Bangor at Peakes Auditorium

BANGOR, Maine — The U.S. Navy Band from Washington, D.C., will present a free concert at Bangor High School’s Peakes Auditorium at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21.

Under the baton of Capt. George N. Thompson, the band will present a variety of popular and classical favorites.

Members of several local high school bands will join the Navy Band on stage to perform John Philip Sousa’s “Washington Post March.”

The concert is free, but tickets are required. Free general admission tickets may be picked up at Bangor High School.

Any unclaimed seats will be available to nonticket holders just prior to concert time.

The special performance by the Navy’s premier musical organization is part of the Navy Band’s national tour. The band performs frequently at the White House and the U.S. Capitol, and has participated in 21 presidential inaugurations.
