Alton country music show featuring Maine performers to aid man battling cancer

ALTON, Maine — A Country Sunday Benefit Show will be held this weekend to raise funds to help defray medical expenses for Willy Hall, who is battling cancer.

Hall and his wife, Kathy, are avid country music fans and enjoy attending local jams and country music shows, said organizers Carol and Armand Paquin. The event will be held 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the Happy Acres Bottle Club, Bennoch Road, in Alton. Admission is by donation at the door.

Scheduled to perform are The Mainely Country, Jackie King, The Higgins Family, Bob Elston, Lefty Dean, Hank Hughes and Vintage Country, Wade Dow and Friends, Brenda Millett, Patti and Frank Coombs, Jeannie Scripture, George Harnish and The New Band and Family Tradition. Dutch Heiser will serve as special guest emcee.

The event will feature raffles and door prizes. A snack bar will be open. For more information, call 394-2363.
