BREWER, Maine — City police arrested a Harmony man twice within a roughly three-hour period early Wednesday morning.

The first arrest for Joshua Tuttle, 25, occurred about 12:30 a.m., when police found a small amount of cocaine and marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Wilson Street, Brewer police Sgt. Arden Jones said Wednesday afternoon.

Tuttle was charged with possession of a scheduled drug and with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and then taken to Penobscot County Jail, Jones said. Tuttle was released on bail shortly afterward.

About three hours later, Tuttle was back in custody after Brewer police officers conducted a bail check in his room at a Brewer motel, Jones said. During a search of the room, police found alcohol in a gym bag in his room, which was a violation of the conditions of his release.

Tuttle was taken back to jail and released on bail after a court appearance later in the day at the Penobscot Judicial Center, a jail official confirmed Wednesday night.

Also charged, though not arrested, as a result of the motel room bail check was Destiny McIntyre, 29, of Cornville. She was issued a summons for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
