Bangor Hydro working to restore power in Lincoln area

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Hydro Electric Co. repair crews were working late Wednesday afternoon to restore power to more than 800 customers in Mattawamkeag, Winn, Lee and parts of Lincoln, including Bagley Mountain Road, Half Township Road, South Road and the Curtis Farm Road.

The outage, which began shortly before 5 p.m., was the result of a broken conductor and downed lines in Mattawamkeag that caused widespread outages in the area, Bangor Hydro spokesman Bob Potts said in a news release.

Potts said line workers were addressing the situation as quickly and safely as possible and expected to have service restored by about 7 p.m.

Bangor Hydro reminds and encourages customers to stay clear of downed power lines and trees in contact with power lines. Customers may report outages by calling the company’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-440-1111.
