PORTLAND — WMPG Cajun’ Cookin’ Challenge Fat Tuesday Celebration, noon-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, Woodbury Campus Center, University of Southern Maine Portland campus on Bedford Street. Food and music from Rob Sylvain and the Rhythm Aces. Donations accepted.

UNITY — Community meal featuring Herb Roasted Chicken, Roasted Local Root Vegetables, Vegetarian Baked Beans (Cajun & Regular), and Indian Pudding. Unity Community Center, $5-$15; benefits local food pantries.

WISCASSET — Natural Beekeeping Class in Top Bar Hives, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. March 5, 6, Morris Farm, Gardiner Road. $175 for both days, breakfast and lunch included. To register, call 449-1121.
