ST. DAVID – Bernice G. Michaud, 78, passed away Feb. 24, 2011, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born Nov. 17, 1932, in St. David, the daughter of Aubin and Delia (Cormier) Albert.
Bernice owned and operated Al’s Variety Store, St. David, with her husband, Albert for more than 20 years. She loved gardening, cooking and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Bernice was a communicant of St. David Church and was a member of Ladies of St. Anne for 52 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Michaud of St. David and Arlene Michaud of Bangor; two sons, Raymond Michaud and his wife, Sandy, of South Burlington, Vt., and Donald Michaud of Presque Isle; five grandchildren, Nicole, Chris, Cami, Angela and Celeste; two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Gage; her special daughter-in-law, Laurie Michaud of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Michaud, in December 2007; one sister, Blanche Martin; and two brothers, Reno Theriault and Willard Theriault.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. David Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
