BANGOR — Tournament officials are expected to announce Friday morning if that day’s tournament schedule will remain intact or if postponements are necessary due to a snowstorm that’s expected to hit the state.

According to Eastern B, C and D tournament co-director Norris Nickerson, plans as of Thursday  evening were to play the two Class C girls semifinals on Friday afternoon as scheduled at the Bangor Auditorium.

If the Class C boys semifinals have to be postponed, Nickerson said they would be rescheduled for 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

In that case, the Eastern D finals would be moved from Saturday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the Eastern B finals, which would be moved from Saturday afternoon to Saturday evening beginning at 7.

Under that scenario, the Eastern C finals would be played Monday, with the girls game at 4 p.m. and the boys game to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m.

As for Friday night’s scheduled Eastern Maine Class A boys and girls finals at the Augusta Civic Center, Nickerson — also the principal at Bangor High School — said a decision is expected by 10 a.m. Friday. If those games are postponed, among the options are to reschedule the games for Saturday morning or move them to Monday.
