LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine — The State Fire Marshal’s Office says a Livermore Falls man was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with arson in connection with a fire that damaged a second hand shop in downtown Livermore Falls earlier this week.
Fire investigators charged Scott Violette, 36, with arson and violating probation. He was arrested at the Livermore Falls police department, where he was questioned.
The fire started near the front door of the Treasure Chest, located on Depot Street. Violette lives in a nearby apartment house on the same street.
He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn and is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail. He is on probation for a previous arson conviction from a fire in Norridgewock in 2003.
