KNOX, Maine — Maine State Police are investigating the death of a Bangor teenager who was shot and killed Saturday night inside a home on the Dolloff Road, Stephen McCausland, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman, said in a Sunday press release.
Tyler Seaney, 19, of Bangor was visiting a friend and was shot just before 7 p.m.
“The gun apparently discharged while in the hands of a friend and Seaney died moments later,” McCausland said.
A team of six Maine State Police detectives went to the scene Saturday night to investigate and were assisted by Waldo County deputies.
An autopsy is scheduled Monday at the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
No one has been charged. The name of the friend is not being released at this time as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances.
Employees at the Bangor Walmart, where Seaney worked, were informed of his death on Sunday, an employee told the Bangor Daily News.
