Dexter woman stabs boyfriend’s car on Valentine’s Day

By Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN Staff

DEXTER, Maine — A 41-year-old local woman became so upset with her boyfriend on Monday, Valentine’s Day, that she took out her anger on his car, Police Chief Jim Emerson said on Tuesday.

“She put several holes in the roof of a vehicle with a screwdriver,” he said.

Jennifer Doerfler, who has the same address as the 45-year-old male victim, also scraped the side of the car, which is owned by her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Emerson said. Police, who have been called to the couple’s residence in the past, were sent to the home at around 10 p.m. Monday and Doefler was charged with criminal mischief, he said. She was not arrested.
