Weymouth lifts EMCC women past UM-Augusta

AUGUSTA — Caroline Weymouth connected for 21 points Wednesday night to lead the Eastern Maine Community College of Bangor to a 60-57 women’s basketball victory at the Augusta Civic Center.

Sarah Long tallied 18 points for Ethe Golden Eagles and Kristina Scoville added 10 points.

Ashley Peasley scored a game-high 22 points to lead the University of Maine-Augusta. Katie Poirier contributed 18 points.

Megan Korhonen scored 19 points and Rashell Saucer grabbed 11 rebounds for the 10-10 UMPI Owls.

Kayla Wood scored 19 to pace the Clippers. Emma LeGallais scored 16, Sabree Rodriguez had 14 points and Janyne Pringle had 11 rebounds.

At Presque Isle, Patrick Manifold scored 25 points as the University of Maine at Presque Isle beat the University of Maine-Machias.

Chris Coffin had 24 points, 11 rebounds and made seven 3-pointers for the Owls. Clifford McDonald scored 23 points and Kyle Corrigan chipped in 11 points and nine assists.

Hampton Mack had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Clippers. Zach Armstrong also scored 21 points and Will Lewis posted 12 points and 11 assists.

Casey Reynolds tossed in 16 points, Micheal Baltimore scored 13, Edson Pierre posted 12 and Matt Rosas added 10 for Eastern Maine Community College of Bangor.

Willy Walter paced the University of Maine-Augusta with 18 points. Orlando Holmes netted 13 and David Prior chipped in with 10.
