ROCKLAND, Maine — An Owls Head woman injured when her minivan collided with a tractor-trailer truck here shortly after noon Monday was out of the hospital by Tuesday evening.
Kelly Wadsworth, 35, was injured when she lost control of her 2004 Dodge Caravan on Old County Road and slid into the path of an 18-wheel tractor-trailer truck. The driver of the semi, Craig Buzzell, 60, of Wayne, hit the brakes and had almost come to a stop when the van smashed into the front of the truck, according to a police report released by the Rockland Police Department on Tuesday.
Firefighters had to cut Wadsworth out of her van before she could be taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center. Later that afternoon, she was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. A nursing supervisor at EMMC on Tuesday afternoon said Wadsworth had been discharged.
The police report states that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors.
